SMS Terms & Conditions

Terms governing SMS messages sent by PlacardPro to commercial drivers as part of fleet account provisioning.

// Last updated: July 2026  —  Effective immediately

Program Description

PlacardPro is a DOT hazardous materials compliance platform operated by Mile Marker Technologies, LLC. Commercial truck drivers receive SMS messages only after their fleet administrator provisions their account through the PlacardPro fleet management console at placardpro.ai. Messages are transactional only — limited to one-time activation codes and account notifications. No marketing messages are ever sent.

How You Are Enrolled

You consent to receive SMS messages from PlacardPro during onboarding with your employing motor carrier — via paper or digital onboarding paperwork, or verbal confirmation, administered by the carrier — before your fleet administrator enters your name and mobile phone number into the PlacardPro console. Consent is obtained prior to any message being sent. No driver self-enrolls.

Message Frequency

Typically one SMS activation code when your account is created. Occasional account notifications as required by your fleet administrator. No recurring promotional messages.

Message & Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Mile Marker Technologies does not charge for SMS messages. Contact your carrier for details.

Privacy

Your mobile number is collected solely for delivering your activation code and account notifications. It is never sold, shared with third parties for marketing, or used for any purpose beyond operating PlacardPro.

Carrier Disclaimer

Mile Marker Technologies is not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages. Supported carriers include AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Boost Mobile, Metro by T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, and other major U.S. carriers.

STOP

Reply STOP to any message to opt out immediately. You will receive one final confirmation and no further messages will be sent to your number.

HELP

Reply HELP to any message for assistance, or contact us directly at support@milemarkertech.com or placardpro.ai.

// Opt-In

How Drivers Opt In

Consent to receive PlacardPro SMS messages is obtained before a driver's phone number is entered into the PlacardPro console, through one of the following methods administered by the driver's motor carrier:

  • Onboarding paperwork — the driver signs or acknowledges SMS consent language in the carrier's paper or digital onboarding documents
  • Verbal consent — the fleet administrator reads the consent script below and the driver affirmatively agrees
  • Text keyword — a driver who previously opted out may re-opt in at any time by texting START to the PlacardPro number
Verbal Consent Script — Read to Driver

“As part of your onboarding with [Carrier Name], we use PlacardPro, a hazmat compliance app from Mile Marker Technologies. To activate your driver account, PlacardPro will send a one-time activation code by text message to your mobile phone, and a one-time confirmation text after activation. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency is limited to account activation. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, or get help by replying HELP. The SMS terms are at placardpro.ai/smsterms and the privacy policy is at placardpro.ai/privacypolicy. Do I have your permission to send these text messages to [driver's mobile number]?”

The driver must answer affirmatively before the phone number is entered into the PlacardPro console. The carrier records the date, driver name, phone number, and the name of the person who obtained consent, and retains that record.

Consent to receive SMS is not a condition of purchasing any good or service. A driver who declines SMS may still be activated — the activation code can be communicated directly by the fleet manager instead.
